NBA Free Frenzy is on the way and the buzz is starting to get louder each second

Today is the day, NBA free agency begins at 6pm EST.

This 2021 free agency class is a solid one, led off by Kawhi Leonard. Leonard tore part of his ACL as reports came out after the NBA Finals. This will not hurt his stock in free agency. Many teams could benefit from his talents as a great defender and midrange shooter. His game is one of the few in the NBA that is great on both offense and defense. While he will have many suiters lining up to sign him, it seems like the Los Angeles Clippers will have top priority.

While he is not the best in this class, he has been causing a lot of hype around his name. Lonzo Ball is ready for his time with the New Orleans Pelicans to come to an end. Still a young player at 23, Ball has improved a lot with his game. His shot making ability has improved by changing his shot form. Ball has learned to fit into his role as a playmaker and controls the ball very well when bringing it up the court. There are two main teams interested in Ball, which are the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics. The Bulls seem to have the upper hand being able to offer that big contract, yet the Celtics may be a better fit for Ball. Ball would be playing alongside Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, two young stars in this league who need a good playmaking point guard. This will be a big name to watch in the coming days.

Next up is Kyle Lowry. Lowry’s name was mentioned in multiple trade talks before the deadline earlier in the year. It looks like both him and the Toronto Raptors are looking to part ways. While Lowry is not in his prime anymore, he can still be a great piece to any team that needs a good point guard. Lowry with his playmaking and shot ability, can play on any team and make them better. The main teams interested in Lowry are the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Dallas Mavericks. All these teams would benefit from Lowry’s play as they all lack a starting caliber point guard.

The Los Angeles Lakers were front runners for DeMar DeRozan before the Russell Westbrook trade. DeRozan is still a great player. Playing for the San Antonio Spurs, DeRozan had a great shot to be the number one guy. He averaged 21.6 points per game. He can fit on multiple teams and has interest from multiple teams. One thing that’s in the air is if he will go chase the ring or go for a big payday. Rumors have been swirling that he still wants to be a Laker and is willing to take a massive pay cut. This would mean veteran minimum. DeRozan can receive a bigger pay day from almost any team out there, it’s just a matter of waiting now.

The last big name of this class is Chris Paul. While he did decline his player option, he is still wanting to be a Phoenix Suns member for the long haul. Paul is looking to make a three year 90-million-dollar contract with this team. He helped them reach the NBA finals after one year of being there. This is the perfect fit for him and it’s just a matter of time till this contract is signed.
