If you watched the Monday Night Football game, you would have thought you were watching two struggling teams in the Eagles and the Chargers, fighting for an NFL Draft instead of playoff seeding. The Eagles came into this game on a four-game skid and wanted to get the ball rolling with their offense. Let's just say, Jalen Hurts wanted to escape tonight's reality. He had five turnovers, 4 INTs and 1 fumble. Outside of that Jake Elliott miseed a field goal right before halftime, when the Eagles wanted to build momentum and cut the Chargers' lead to one.
Coming out of the locker room, the Eagles wanted to find some type of spark to jump start their offense and they got iy right out the gate as Saquan Barkley broke free for a 40-yard touchdown, which put the Eagles up three.
Let's take it to the fourth quarter with under a minute left in regulation. The Chargers needed a field goal to tie up the game. Philadelphia had some costly penalties that cost them some yards late in the game. Los Angeles kicked a field goal to send the game in OT. After the Chargers kicked a field goal to go up three, Hurts had the Chargers on skates as the Eagles were not only in position to score a field goal but could have won the game with a touchdown. Hurts threw in tight coverage, and the ball was picked off a the five-yard line, and the Chargers went home with a win. Hurts finished 21 out of 40 for 240 yards,4 ints, and 1 fumble.
With another loss, the division race has gotten tighter as the Cowboys are a game and a half back with only four more games left. Things could very interesting if the Cowboys can win all games and the Eagles lose the next three games.
