Naz Hillmon hits clutch jumper to help the Dream escape Wings

Naz Hillmon sank the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining, amassing 12 of her career-high 21 points in the fourth quarter. She propelled the Atlanta Dream to an 88-85 win over the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night.
Allisha Gray scored 15 points, Brionna Jones added 14, and Maya Caldwell scored 13 for Atlanta.
Paige Bueckers the Wings with 21 points, including nine in the final five minutes, marking her 11th 20-point performance of the season.
Bueckers drained a 3-pointer to edge Dallas ahead by one with 2:36 left. Brionna Jones countered with a basket inside. Bueckers was fouled while converting a driving layup and completed the three-point play to push the score to 83-81 with two minutes remaining.
Te-Hina Paopao drove for a layup and executed a backdoor cut, catching a pass from Jones to score another layup, giving the Dream a two-point advantage with 34 seconds left. Arike Ogunbowale responded with a fadeaway jumper with 21 seconds to go, setting the stage for Hillmon’s game-winning shot.
Gray’s 11 points in the first half helped Atlanta establish a 26-21 lead entering the second quarter. The Wings, now 2-13 when trailing at the end of the first, struggled to recover.
Atlanta’s Brittney Griner was ejected less than a minute into the third quarter after receiving two technical fouls for arguing a foul call. Jordin Canada (illness) was sidelined for the game.
Dallas entered the matchup following a 92-82 victory over the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty.
The Wings conclude their four-game homestand on Friday against Indiana, while the Dream return home to face Phoenix.
