Met Gala will feature plant based menu for guests

New York- This year, several different chefs will feature a plant based menu for guest attending the intimate Met gala September 13.

The prestigious gala, which showcases a theme of different fashion each year will be doing something very different this year with their menu. For the first time ever, there will be different cooks serving plant based food.

"The opportunity for guests to experience the cuisine of this diverse group of chefs will be one of the highlights of the evening,” said Clyde B. Jones III, Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement at The Met. “We are grateful to Marcus and the chefs for their participation in the Benefit, which provides The Costume Institute with its primary source of annual funding.”

Each chef will contribute one recipe for either a canapé, an entrée, or a dessert in a new interpretation of regional American cuisine. Olivier Cheng will cater the event.

In a unique year and unique gala, it was only right to that the chefs mix it up a little bit. This years' theme will be a two part exhibit representing American fashion. The exhibit is called In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, on view September 18, 2021–September 5, 2022.
