Hurts Delivers Late as Eagles Escape Nashville With 24-20 Win Over Titans

The Philadelphia Eagles found themselves in a fight until the final seconds Sunday afternoon, but Jalen Hurts delivered when Philadelphia needed him most.

Hurts engineered a dramatic late touchdown drive as the Eagles defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-20 at Nissan Stadium, improving to 2-0 to begin the 2026 season.

Philadelphia trailed 20-17 after Tennessee kicker Joey Slye connected on a 33-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. That left Hurts and the Eagles with little time and little room for error.

Hurts responded with the biggest drive of the afternoon.

Philadelphia moved down the field, with DeVonta Smith making a crucial 19-yard reception that put the Eagles at the Tennessee 3-yard line. Hurts then connected with Darius Cooper for the go-ahead 3-yard touchdown in the closing seconds, completing the comeback and giving Philadelphia a 24-20 advantage.

Tennessee had one final opportunity, but the Eagles' defense prevented the Titans from answering before time expired.Hurts finished 26-of-37 for 264 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. It wasn't a mistake-free afternoon for the Eagles quarterback, but his performance on the final possession proved decisive.

Smith was one of Philadelphia's biggest offensive weapons, finishing with 10 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown. He scored on a 22-yard pass from Hurts during the second quarter and later made the key reception that helped set up the winning touchdown.

Tank Bigsby also found the end zone, scoring on a 2-yard run in the second quarter. Jake Elliott provided another important moment when he drilled a 58-yard field goal during the third quarter to give Philadelphia a 17-10 lead.

The Eagles controlled much of the game statistically, finishing with 341 total yards and holding the football for more than 36 minutes. However, two Hurts interceptions helped Tennessee stay within striking distance.

Tennessee quarterback Cam Ward used his legs to make an impact, scoring twice on 1-yard touchdown runs. Ward completed 13 of 20 passes for 183 yards without an interception.

The Titans also received 64 rushing yards from Tony Pollard, while Tyjae Spears added 41 yards on the ground.

Despite the turnovers and a late deficit, Philadelphia found a way to leave Nashville with another victory.

The Eagles are now 2-0, while Tennessee falls to 0-2.

For Philadelphia, the biggest moment came when the game was on the line. With the Eagles needing a touchdown in the closing minutes, Hurts delivered a drive that turned what could have been a frustrating road loss into a dramatic Week 2 victory
