Lakers stiffened their defense late and tied the series 1-1 against the Suns.

Los Angeles- Defense by the Lakers ;ate in the fourth quarter, help them defeat the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 109-102.


After coming off a struggling offensive loss in Game 1, the Los Angeles Lakers came out aggressive on the defensive end. Anthony Davis and LeBron James had a couple of steals, which lead to 12 fast break points for them in the first quarter. The Lakers built up a double digit lead heading into the second. However, the double figure lead disappeared in a matter of minutes, as the Phoenix Suns went on a 10-2 run to cut the Lakers' lead to single digits.


With under five minutes left in the half Dennis, Schroder, Andre Drummond, and Davis went to work with using their size and speed to get easy buckets inside. They extended the lead and all three players were in double figures at the half. LA walked into the locker room with a 53-47 lead.


In the second half, the Lakers' offense slipped in the third. Phoenix got themselves back in the game and back and forth both teams went. Davis and James stiffened their defense on Devin Booker late in the fourth quarter and made him take some wild and ill-advised shots. James hit a three-point dagger with .44 seconds left in regulation to get the win.


Davis finished with 34 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds

James finished with 23 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds
