The New Orleans Saints offense was stagnant in a 24-10 loss to their divisional l foes in the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saints' defense allowed Atlanta to run the ball with enough consistency to set up play-action passes by quarterback Kirk Cousins. Atlanta had 302 total yards New Orleans scored their only touchdown, which was on a defensive interception by New Orleans safety Justin Reid for a 49-yard touchdown. T.Shough had a rough day as he was sacked five times, threw one pick and finished the game with 243 yards through the air. Outside of not being able to get into rhythm, the Saints struggled to establish the run and collectively had 79 yards on the ground
Many things must be cleaned up, especially penalties, before the Saints take on their next opponent, the Miami Dolphins. They had four costly penalties which cost them 36-yards. It has been a tough season for the Saints, but as they are rebuilding, they are consistently looking for ways to improve.
