From inside and out, Griner was beating up on the smaller defenders guarding her. Griner finished the half with 12 points.

Team USA pushed the pace of the game and used their speed to break the game open on a 20-12 run in the second quarter. Sue Bird and Jewell Loyd dished out some nifty dimes, as both players put on a passing clinic. Team USA was clicking and went into the locker room with a 55-34 lead over Nigeria.

Team USA kept attacking Nigeria's 2-3 zone and got the shots that they wanted in the second half. Bird and Loyd continued to be precised in their passing abilities, which helped Team USA be a little more spaced out. Defensively, Team USA was very active with being physical and forcing Nigeria to shoot contestant shots. Team USA went on to win and split their exhibition record to 1-1.
