Historic LA28 Olympic Torch Relay to Travel Through All 50 States, Beginning in Atlanta

The road to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games is beginning to take shape, with LA28 announcing plans for a historic Olympic Torch Relay that will travel through all 50 U.S. states before reaching Los Angeles.
The nationwide journey will begin its U.S. portion in Atlanta, honoring the city that hosted the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and marking the return of the Olympic flame to the site of the last Summer Games held in the United States.
The Olympic flame will first be lit in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, before traveling to the United States in spring 2028. Once it arrives in Atlanta, the flame will begin an unprecedented journey across all 50 states on its way to Los Angeles for the Opening Ceremony.
LA28 says the full Olympic Torch Relay route will be announced in 2027.
