Turnovers haunted the deck of cards for the Las Vegas Aces in a loss to the Liberty 82-63

After a disappointing loss to the Liberty last week, the Aces were looking for revenge to go up in the series 2-1, but they had to find some way to stop Sabrina Ionescu. Ionescu scorched the Aces, burning their net with 32 points in their last meeting. For the most part, the Aces held Ionescu in check. Ionescu and only allowed her to score two points in the first half.

Digging themselves out of a double-digit hole, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray put the Aces back in front, with a 10-2 run right before the end of the second quarter. What made that possible was the three-point shooting of the Aces. Las Vegas shot around 45% from behind the arc and went on to take their first lead of the game, 10 seconds before the half ended, 34-32.

You would think the intensity and the momentum for the Aces would transition in the second half. It did not. Aja Wilson struggled to find her rhythm and forced up shots that normal she would connect on. While Wilson was struggling, the Aces had crucial turnovers that Liberty capitalized on. Six turnovers turned into 10 fast break points for New York. Down by double figures late in the fourth. Outside of Young and Gray, the Aces just could not get any buckets late and for the second consecutive game against the Liberty, the Aces' were beaten to a pulp.

Young finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist
