Thirty-point outburst leads New York Jets over Texans for fifth win of season

It is no secret that the New York Jets have had multiple games with offensive inefficiencies.  Sunday was not one of those games.  The Jets accumulated for 347 yards, converted 6 of 15 third downs and 1 of 1 on 4th down attempts as well.  New York confidently brought back quarterback Zach Wilson into the starting role, and watched a young quarterback play with inner confidence that didn’t look rattled due to the previous game benching.  Wilson passed for 301 yards going 27 for 36 completions, 2 touchdowns, 117.6 rating, and most importantly got the victory.

The Jets had an offensive explosion with 7 players making at least 1 reception and the rushing attack accumulating 79 yards with 1 touchdown.  Defensively, the Jets held the Texans to under 200 total yards (147) and rookie sensation, C.J. Stroud, was knocked out of the game and was under concussion protocol allowing his backup Davis Mills to only complete 1 of 5 passes.  The Jets defense sacked the quarterback 4 times for a total of 33 yards lost.  New York now travels to Miami to face a familiar AFC East opponent to keep their season and wild card dreams alive.  The Houston Texans now have a 7-6 record and find themselves behind the Colts and the first-place Jaguars in the AFC South.  Houston travels to Tennessee to play in a critical division game next Sunday.
