The Cougars pitched a shutout in season opener against SFA 27-0

Heading into the start of the season, Houston was very optimistic that they can play with the best of them because their offense was so explosive. Well, their offense showed off during their home opener against SFA. Conner Weigman threw 3 touchdowns, while have 159 through the air and ran for 39 yards. The numbers through the air were efficient but their running attack against SFA was impressive. They had five players, who ran over 20 yards on the ground and finished as team with 191 yards.

After the game, players spoke with media and told them that they were glad that they gotten the win, but they see some areas that they can improve on. Next Friday, the Cougars will play Rice University.
