Tigers' special teams comes to life in a victory the Golden Bears

The Tigers get a 24-10 over California Friday night in a game where neither offense was able to perform well. This was the first matchup between the schools since the Golden Bears joined the ACC in 2024.

There was just one offensive touchdown between the teams until Gideon Davidson scored with 2:59 remaining to put everyone to bed. Davidson rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

On Cal's first drive in the second half, a field goal tied the game, but Clemson took the lead after the Bears punted. Wesco fielded Agnus Davies' 39-yard punt down the middle on the run. After eluding two tacklers, he broke toward the Clemson sideline before sprinting in for a 65-yard touchdown. He gave cornerback Ashton Hampton a high five on the way in.

Cal could not get close to the end zone again thanks to the Tigers' defense. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele finished 16 for 29 for 119 yards and two interceptions for his fewest yards in 17 career starts.

Wesco Jr.'s electrifying punt return was a highlight moment, showcasing his agility and speed. Davidson was a standout on offense, dominating the ground game with 159 rushing yards and two crucial touchdowns. On the defensive side, Elliot Washington's game-ending interception for the second week in a row solidified Clemson's victory. In contrast, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele struggled under pressure, throwing two interceptions.
