The Clippers blew a double digit lead in the second half to be defeated by the Nuggets, 111-105

Orlando- The Los Angeles Clippers could not close out the Denver Nuggets and suffered a disappointing loss, 111-105.



In the first half, everything was working for the Clippers. Collectively they were crashing the boards, getting blocks, and running the floor with Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams running the break. Leonard was aggressive with getting to his spots floor and making Denver confused at how to guard him. Los Angeles broke the game wide open as they went on a 12-2 run to go up 14. Paul George had a good half, as he was letting the game come to him and not forcing up shots. George finished the half with 13 points. The Clippers were shooting around 50% from the field and was stroking from three point land, hitting 9 out of 17 shots from behind the arc. At the end of the half, the Clippers had a 56-44 lead over the Denver Nuggets.


In the second half, the Nuggets keep chipping at the Clippers' lead and got it down to two points. Jamal Murray started to hit his shots and the Clippers' defense was falling asleep on outlet passes, as well as not closing out on three pointers. Paul Millsap was taking advantage of his mitchmatch and scoring buckets at will. Denver took the lead on a 16-5 run late in the fourth quarter. Murray and Nikola Jokic' got hot as everything was dropping at the bottom of the net. With under .50 seconds left Michael Porter Jr. hit a three pointer to put the Nuggets five and they went on to survive and play another game in the series.


Paul George finished the game with 26 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard finished with 36 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds.


Jokic finished the game with 22 points, 5 assists, and 14 rebounds. Murray finished with 26 points, 7 assists,and 8 rebounds.
