Team USA Bullies Iran in a victory 120-66

Tokyo- Team USA travels in victory style over Iran.

After losing to France in their Olympic debut, Team USA wanted to erase that loss and move forward with pulling out a victory over Iran. Leading up to the game, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and other members of Team USA kept repeating that they needed to stick to their identity and minimize turning the ball over.

Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker started the game with a couple of good looking shots that went down, which set the tone for the night. Team USA was hot from behind the arc in the first quarter. They went 6 of 12 from behind the arc and built a comfortable double digit lead in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Team USA smothered Iran defensively. They played up on Iran, did not allow them to get in their offensive sets, and did not let them breathe for a second. Team USA went on a 35-14 run to finish the quarter. Dame was the leading scorer at the half with 18 points.

The second half was just a slaughter house against Iran. Team USA pushed the pace of the game and made it hard for Iran to guard them. They were hitting their outside shots and was very active on the boards with getting second chance shots. Team USA went on to cruise to a much needed confidence victory.
