Coming off a 29-point comeback and one game away from winning a title since 1973, the Knicks were very focused on the game at hand. Prior to tipoff, the Knicks' players were not worried about the outside noise, they were worried about handling business and winning Game 5.

Like we have seen in this series, the Spurs grabbed an early lead, and the Knicks had to find their rhythm. At the end of the first quarter, the Knicks only had 13 points, shooting around 16% from the field. New York had seven turnovers and struggled to get into their offensive set with the Spurs suffocating them each time they inbounded the ball. Down by 15, Big time shot Brunson got red hot in the second quarter. Brunson, once again put so much pressure on the Spurs' defense with getting to his spots and cutting into the Spurs' lead. By the end of the half, the Knicks cut the lead down to five.

Despite not having a great shooting night, the Knicks were right in the game. Brunson was legit the only player consistently hitting jump shots. Things got a bit controversial as the refs missed a couple calls that could have helped the momentum of the knicks. Brunson did everything in his power to cut another double-digit lead to single digits. Heading into the fourth, the Knicks were down seven, while Brunson had a 30-point night.

With under six minutes left, it was the Brunson show. He continued to put the Knicks on his back and attempted to will his team to a championship. Bruson went on an 8-0 by himself to put the Knicks in the lead with under three minutes left in regulation. The Knicks went on a 12-6 run to take the lead and get the win to break their NBA curse.

Brunson capped up the night with a 45 bucket of championship wings
