After getting a win to extend their season and force a Game 7, winner take all and loser pack their bags, the Spurs had all of the confidence in the world. The last two games, San Antionio held SGA pretty much in check and did not allow him to be effective.

After the Game 6 victory, Stephon Castle stated that the Spurs could end the Thunder's chances of repeating because he felt like they were the better team. After pleasant words were exchanged it was time to get into Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Spurs threw the first punch of the night as they roared to a double-digit lead with their aggressive shooting and forcing three steals that turned into six-fast break points. Castle and Wemby set the tone from the jump. When SGA would get the ball, the Spurs would send two players to guard him, which forced the ball out of his hands. Each time it looked like OKC was going to cut into the lead, San Antonio would bomb threes to extend their lead. Things took a surprising turn late in the second, San Antonio took their foot off the gas and started shooting more outside shots, which was hitting the side of the basket. SGA went to work and went on a personal 12-2 run to cut the Spurs' lead to a one possession game at the half.

Right before D. Fox went into the locker room, he was asked about his contributions in this game, and he basically said that he was seeing the defense that was given to him and was making the right reads.

The second was a tail of a different story for the Spurs. Their offense slowed down just a bit and their second option in Castle had to be a bit conservative as he had four fouls, heading into the fourth. Holding onto a four-point lead, it was going to be a grind it out quarter if the Spurs were going to pull out the victory.

The Spurs got back to their transitional offense as they were knocking down threes and went on a 14-4 run to take an 11-point lead midway in the quarter. San Antonio hit the digger with under a minute to finish off the Champs and will advance to the NBA Finals.

Wimby finished with 22 points
