South Carolina takes care of Maryland 114-76

After getting their first win of the season earlier this week, Dawn Staley wanted her team to be focused and prepared for Maryland. She stated that she wanted to contain Jackia -Brown Turner and get the ball out of her hands, because she is very crafty with creating offense for her team. In the first half, Turner was causing all sorts of problems for the Gamecocks. From hitting outside shots to getting to the cup, Turner was making her presence felt. Believe it or not the game was very close at the end of break.

Whatever was said in the locker room, SC tightened up their defense and held Turner to just only 2 points in the second half. Their defense was on a mission as they forced Maryland to take bad shots, which opened up the door for more transitional offense for SC. SC had seven players that scored in dobule figures and shot 50% from the field and 50% behind the arc.
