Ionescu is in her bag early in the WNBA season. In her welcome back home opener, Ionescu nailed a game winner to help her team get the victory and now she breaks WNBA history with becoming the youngest player to record a triple double at 23 years old (26 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds).
Ionescu has helped the Liberty in a huge manner, as they are now 3-0 for the first time in 14 years and have a buzz around the organization. Ionescu had this to say about her historic night.
"Obviously getting a triple-double in a win is important," Ionescu said. "Super proud of my teammates, my coaching staff for helping me get that. I'm super grateful. It's definitely pretty cool [getting the first one in franchise history].''
Coming off a season ending injury last season, Ionescu is starting to show signs that she is a problem and could be the next face of the WNBA.
