Raiders are playing checkers, trying to figure out their future with a franchise QB
The Las Vegas Raiders have decided to bench quarterback Derek Carr for the remainder of the season. Carr and the Raiders decided that it is best for him to stay away from the team to avoid any distractions to the team for the final two weeks of the year, which pretty much marks the end of Derek Carr’s career with Vegas. Here are some options for the franchise moving forward. Quarterback Jarrett Stidham made quite the case for himself against the number one defense in the league, which is the San Francisco 49ers. He finished the game 23 of 34 for 365 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Stidham is still under evaluation and gets another chance to prove that wasn’t a fluke against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stidham played with heart and determination to make plays and put his team in prime position to win the football game. He left everything he had on the field and then some. All that being said, the Raiders have a rough decision to make going forward at the most important position in football. They can go to the draft and try to get a C.J. Stroud, Will Levis, Cam Rising, or a Hendon Hooker. They could get someone in free agency, like a Tom Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo, or Geno Smith. The Raiders could even go both routes if they choose, but that all remains to be seen. The Las Vegas Raiders are under pressure again to get it right this offseason, and it’s very important that they do so so that they can end this drought of being one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league over the last 20 plus years
