New York makes a statement to the World Champs in a victory 87-77

In the end, Kelsey Plum scored 24 points, A'ja Wilson added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Jackie Young scored 17 points, but it wasn't enough to win the game

In last year's playoffs, the Aces were ranked as the No. 1 seed. This meant that New York had to travel to Las Vegas for the first two games of the Finals. As a result, the Liberty returned home with a 0-2 loss and were never able to recover.

It is clear that Breanna Stewart was not at the top of her game last year in the Finals. This is when the Las Vegas Aces beat the New York Liberty in the finals. As a result, she made sure this would not happen to her in Game 1 of this year's semifinal series. She scored 34 points to set the tone.

Sabrina Ionescu finished with 21 points and Jonquel Jones had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Liberty. The Liberty big 3 played a flawless game. The Liberty controlled this game from start to finish. After scoring the first five points of the third quarter, the Liberty led 62-44. Following a timeout, the Aces scored 12 points to get within six points. In the third quarter, Courtney Vandersloot finally snapped the drought for New York with a layup that led to a nine-point lead.

With 7:34 left in the game, Sabrina Ionescu hit a 3-pointer and pointed to Spike Lee, who was sitting courtside wearing her jersey. Ninety seconds later, she hit another 3-pointer that made the sellout crowd go crazy. The big mo was clearly on the Liberty side and Las Vegas couldn't get closer than eight the rest of the way.
