LSU's offense comes alive in the second half and gets the victory over Clemson 17-10

Saturday was the season opener for LSU, and it had a lot of big implications with them going up against NO:4 Clemson. It was the battle of the tigers. for the majority of the first half, Garrett Nussmeier did not look like himself. He struggled to get into rhythm and was off target throwing the deep ball. Clemson did a great job with sticking with more zone, so that is why Nussmeier had success with completed passed under 15-yards. He found success in the second quarter, but two crucial turnovers, ended drives which could have been potential points for the tigers. At the half, they were down 10-3.
Coming out of the locker rooms to kick off the second half, LSU' HC Brian Kelly stated that he wanted to be more aggressive and they needed to minimize turning the ball over. Now, we might have gotten on LSU's offense a bit, but their defense kept Clemson's offense in check. It looked like Clemson was going to extend their lead with a potential score. The Tigers forced a three and out and forced Clemson to kick a 42-yard field goal. A play later, Clemson's field goal was no good, which game LSU great field position.
LSU went on to score a touchdown to take their first lead of the game. Let's take it to the fourth quarter. The Tigers wanted to close out the game as they attempted to run down the clock with under five minutes left in regulation The Tigers went three and out, which gave Clemson another shot to tie the game. LSU had the Tigers where they wanted but missed tackles were the Achillies heels for them. Clemson got into the redzone and had three cracks at it to get a first down. LSU's defense came up big as they put pressure on Klubnik and forced him to throw a bad pass out of bounds to secure the victory.
Nussmeier finished the game 28/ 38 for 230 yards and 1 touchdown
