Los Angeles Sparks hang on to defeat the Dallas Wings 91-83

Bradenton, FL- The Los Angeles Sparks had a second half meltdown, but did just enough to pull out the 91-83 win over the Dallas Wings.

The Sparks went to work on the Wings' defense early on, as they got the ball early to Candace Parker and Brittney Sykes. Sykes and Parker were hitting their shots and putting pressure on the young Dallas team. LA broke the game open with 31-point second quarter and it looked like they were going to cruise to another victory.

However in the second half, the Sparks had seven turnovers that sprung a Wings' 13-7 run, which cut the lead to single digits. Contributions by Allisha Gray and Arike Ogunbowale helped the Wings get back in the game. Both players combined for 31 points, but it wasn't enough as

Chelsea Gray and Parker hit a couple shots late in the fourth quarter to seal the deal with a 91-83 victory.

The Sparks had four players that were in double figures. Parker finished the game with 22 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds. Sykes finished the game with 19 points, 1 assist, and 4 rebounds.

With a win over the Wings and five games remaining in the season, the Sparks put themselves in good position to chase down the Seattle Storm and try to get that double bye. They are only a half game back from tying the Storm and will play them on Friday.
