Clemson football and coach Dabo Swinney secured their second commitment for the 2027 recruiting class with four-star quarterback Kharim Hughley. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound standout from Gainesville High School in Georgia ranks as the state's No. 27 player and the nation's No. 14 quarterback by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Hughley announced his commitment on July 10, shortly after Clemson extended an offer on July 5.

During his sophomore season, Hughley passed for 2,543 yards and 22 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He added 108 rushing yards and three touchdowns, helping Gainesville achieve a 7-4 record and reach the state playoffs, according to MaxPreps. Notably, he follows in the footsteps of former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, who also attended Gainesville High School.

Clemson's 2027 recruiting class, now ranked No. 10 nationally, includes two recruits. Hughley is the first offensive player to commit in this cycle and joins four-star linebacker Max Brown from Jefferson, Georgia. Max is the younger brother of current Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown.
