MIAMI — Unrivaled announced Monday that rookie WNBA standout and former LSU star Flau’jae Johnson has signed a multi-year playing contract with the league and will make her debut during Unrivaled’s third season next winter.

Johnson, the No. 8 overall selection in the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, becomes the second member of Unrivaled’s Future is Unrivaled Class of 2025 to sign a professional playing contract with the league. Her club assignment for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.

The signing marks a full-circle moment for Johnson, who was among the first collegiate athletes to partner with Unrivaled through its NIL initiative. She later rejoined the program as part of the Future is Unrivaled Class of 2025, helping the league build its presence among the nation’s top women’s basketball prospects.

“From signing one of the first NIL deals with Unrivaled to now joining the league as a player, it’s been incredible to see this journey come full circle,” Johnson said. “I’m excited to keep growing as a pro, compete against the best, and bring my game, my personality, and everything I represent to the league next season.”

Johnson has quickly emerged as one of the most productive rookies in the WNBA. Through her first professional season, she is averaging 11.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 26.8 minutes per game while earning a starting role for Seattle. She is currently the only rookie in the league with multiple double-doubles this season.

Before turning pro, Johnson enjoyed a decorated four-year career at Louisiana State University. During her senior season, she started all 35 games and averaged 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. Her performance earned AP and USBWA All-America Third Team honors and a spot as a finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award.

Johnson leaves LSU as one of the most accomplished players in program history. She finished her career with more than 2,000 points, becoming just the sixth player in school history to reach the milestone. She ranks fourth in games played (141), second in games started (139), and helped lead the Tigers to their first NCAA championship in 2023.

Her success has also extended to international competition. Johnson was a member of the gold medal-winning United States Women’s AmeriCup Team at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup, highlighted by a team-leading 22-point performance in the quarterfinals against the Dominican Republic.
