Giannis Antetokounmpo wins NBA All-Star MVP

In dominate fashion, Team LeBron won the NBA All-Star game for the fourth consecutive time by defeating Team Durant 170-150. Team LeBron was Led by All-Stars Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry, and Damian Lillard. Team LeBron won all four quarters and raised $750,000 for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

Antetokounmpo won the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP and went 16 for 16 from the field (an All-Star record) scoring 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. While Antetokounmpo was killing it in the paint, Curry and Lillard were lighting it up from behind the three-point strike. Both players traded three point shots and both hit logo half court shots. Curry finished the game with 28 points, while Lillard scored 32 points and hit the game ending three to give his team the victory.

On the other side of the ball, the leading scorer for Team Durant was Bradley Beal. Beal finished with 26 points, followed by Kyrie Irving with 24 points. This team played very well together without key starters Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid. This team just didn’t have the defensive pressure to stop Team LeBron.

Overall, this was a great game, not only for the fans but for the 25 + HBCUs who were recognized for the great things they have done for their communities. Tonight over $3 Million dollars were donated to HBCUs. This was a great way to give back in support of historically black colleges and University’s impacted by COVID-19.
