Eagles stay undefeated 23-14 against the Rams

Coming into Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles had an impressive record of four wins and zero losses. Aside from a 25 to 11 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Week 3, the Eagles' other three opponents have combined for 4 wins and 11 losses through Week 5. Defensively, Philadelphia has played consistent defense throughout the season in spite of several key injuries. Sunday’s opponent was against a surprising 2-2 Los Angeles Rams that have shown the NFL their young talent on both sides of the ball. Rams’ rookie wide receiver, Puka Nacua, has started off his career setting several NFL records for first-year wide outs. Not only the rookies for the LA Rams have played well, but the return of quarterback Matthew Stafford has proven to show what the Rams offense can look like when he is healthy and the offensive line is intact.

The Philadelphia Eagles rarely trailed in Sunday’s game against the Rams starting with an opening touchdown that set the tone of the game in addition to a touchdown late in the 2nd quarter to secure the lead 17 to 14. The second half was dominated by the Eagles not allowing a point and capturing their 5th win of the year 23 to 14. The Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts had an efficient afternoon passing for 303 yards on 25 of 38 completions and 1 touchdown. Wide receiver A.J. Brown accumulated 127 receiving yards and tight end Dallas Goedert exploded for 6 receptions for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. Philadelphia impressively captured a win against a formidable opponent and now travels to New York to face the Jets. The Rams are left making adjustments for next week’s divisional game against the Arizona Cardinals after not being able to score in the 2nd half. Los Angeles’ record now drops to 2-3 and will host Arizona and Pittsburgh in LA before a week 8 road game in Dallas against the Cowboys.
