Dodgers shut down A's 5-1

Los Angeles- Dodgers were effective on both sides of the ball in a 5-1 victory over the A's.

The Dodgers got back to their dominate ways against the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday. LA scored five runs in the game and did not allow the Athletics to get rolling. Clayton Kershaw was a stud for seven innings. Kershaw allowed a double in the third inning, but after that he was on fire. Kershaw retired 20 out of 22 players, which helped the Dodgers out.

Outside of his strong performance against the Athletics, Kershaw surpassed Don Sutton's strike out record in a season with 2,743.
