Colorado waits for outcome for potential Big 12 Championship spot

Brandon Harley

Colorado football team, led by Deion Sanders aka coach Prime, entered Friday's Big 12 regular season finale with a chip on its shoulder and a small margin for error to work with going into the game.  And that’s exactly how the Buffaloes played.

In a 52-0 victory over Oklahoma State (3-9, 0-9) at Folsom Field at the conclusion of a 60-minute battle, the Buffaloes (9-3 overall, 7-2 in the Big 12) gained another Heisman Trophy-caliber performance from Travis Hunter.

It was not only the team's first shutout of the season, but also its first since 2015 vs. Nicholls State. Hunter performed impressively, receiving 116 yards on 10 catches and scoring three touchdowns, potentially securing the Heisman Trophy. He also had an interception and two pass breakups.

Shedeur Sanders also was nearly unstoppable on Friday, as he set a Colorado single-season passing record with 438 yards in the air on 34-of-41 passing and five touchdowns. Sanders should be mentioned in Heisman talks as there is a possibility that he will receive an invite after this performance today.

Colorado keeps its hopes alive of making next weekend's Big 12 championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
