Cade Klubnik continues to shine

Brandon Harley

There's no doubt that Cade Klubnik has been one of the most important players for Clemson this season. It's time to put some respect on his name. He has been instrumental in the 21st-ranked Tigers' offensive revival as a result of his play. The junior, who is in his second full season as the starting quarterback at Clemson, threw three touchdown passes and added a 55-yard scoring run for 59 points in Clemson's 59-35 win over North Carolina State to start Atlantic Coast Conference play.

A 16-for-24 performance by Klubnik resulted in 209 yards and he came to the sidelines after his final touchdown throw of 4 yards to Adam Randall early in the third quarter. Phil Mafah rushed for 107 yards, his second consecutive 100-yard game

As a matter of fact, Clemson scored the most points in an ACC game since its 62-17 victory over Virginia in the league's championship game five years ago. Aside from that, it was also the 800th win for Clemson in its history, making it the 14th FBS team to achieve that number, and the first ACC school to achieve it as well. It is expected that the Tigers will pile up many more victories this season, especially with an offense that is clicking at such a high level.

This dominant performance has catapulted Clemson to the top of the ACC standings, positioning them as strong contenders for the conference title. The confidence gained from such a decisive win will likely bolster the team's momentum as they face tougher opponents in the weeks ahead. With Klubnik leading the charge, Clemson is poised to make a significant impact in the ACC this season.
