Ashton Hampton potential NFL Draftee

It's no secret that each time the NFL Draft comes around, there is always a team that is looking for its next shutdown cornerback who will lead the defense for several years to come. At a height of 6'2 and 205 pounds, Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton might just be the perfect player for that role.
It is apparent that he plays an aggressive style, crowding receivers at the line of scrimmage, getting in his hip pocket and disrupting routes as soon as possible. As a defensive back, Hampton has the ability to plant and drive on the ball (although his ball production is only moderate, with four career interceptions), and he has the ability to recover quickly enough to make plays with his back to the quarterback if necessary.
Hampton's aggressive play style makes him an excellent fit for press-man coverage schemes, where his physicality can disrupt wide receivers' routes early. Additionally, his ability to recover quickly and make plays on the ball suits zone defenses that require defensive backs to read the quarterback and react swiftly. His versatility allows defensive coordinators to deploy him in multiple roles, tailoring their strategies to exploit his strengths against different offensive threats.
Notre Dame corner Leonard Moore is still listed as the top corner in the draft. However, Hampton is looking to shake up some boards with his level of play.
