Aja Wilson saves the day for the Aces

The Las Vegas Aces ended Phoenix's six-game winning streak with an 84-81 victory on Sunday, led by A'ja Wilson's go-ahead basket with 22 seconds left. Wilson finished with 26 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists. Chelsea Gray fed Wilson for a difficult layup, putting the Aces ahead 83-81 after Jackie Young secured an offensive rebound. Aaliyah Nye added a free throw with 7.1 seconds left, and the Mercury failed to get a good look on their final possession.
Nye, a rookie, set career highs with five 3-pointers and 16 points for the Aces (8-8). Jackie Young contributed 15 points, and Jewell Loyd added 10. Wilson tied Lisa Leslie's WNBA record with her 13th 25-point, 15-rebound game.
Alyssa Thomas led Phoenix (12-5) with 16 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists. Kahleah Copper scored 15 points, Sami Whitcomb had 14, and Satou Sabally added 10. Whitcomb tied a WNBA record with her fifth straight game of at least four 3-pointers.
The game featured 10 ties and 17 lead changes, with a halftime tie at 40. Wilson scored 10 points in the third quarter, helping the Aces take a 59-50 lead. Phoenix opened the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run to lead 67-62, but Vegas regained the lead on Jewell Loyd's 3-pointer with 3:14 remaining, and the lead changed hands five more times down the stretch.
