Aces holds off Sparks' fourth quarter comeback to get the 84-70 victory

Bradenton, FL- Las Vegas Aces defeats the Los Angeles Sparks, 84-70.



In the first half, Aja Wilson and Angel McCoughtry had a good half, as both players combined for 20 points against the stout defense of the Sparks. For the most part, the Aces held the Sparks' star players in check, as Candace Parker had to fight for her nine points and Brittney Aykes struggled to find the bottom of the net. Turnovers and good shot selection was the key factors with the Aces having an eight point lead at the half, 43-35.


Kayla McBride started to get rolling in the third quarter. She was getting in the painted area and pushed the pace of the game. Turnovers was killing the Sparks as, the Aces turned those turnovers into points. McBride had a couple of steals, which helped her team pour it on in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Sparks attempted to climb back into the game, as Parker finally got some shots to drop. The Sparks went on a 7-2 run and had cut the lead down to five, but that was was Wilson went to work to keep her team afloat. Shots by Jackie Young, McBride, and Wilson late in the quarter help the Aces get the victory over the Sparks.


Wilson finished the game with 19 points, 2 assists, and 8 rebounds. McCoughtry finished the game with 19 points, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds.
