A’ja Wilson delivered a historic performance, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for the Aces, who fell to the Indiana Fever 90-83 in Game 4 of the WNBA semifinals. Aliyah Boston dominated with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell added 25 points to help Indiana force a decisive Game 5.
The Fever used their “Stranger Things” uniforms, perhaps sent a a message that they wouldn't let the high-powered Aces run over a team, missing four key, injured players — Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald.
The Fever’s physicality on the boards proved pivotal, as they outrebounded the Aces 34 to 22 and converted 26 free throws compared to Las Vegas’ eight. Despite the loss, Wilson led the Aces with a standout effort, supported by Jackie Young, who contributed 18 points, nine assists, and five rebounds while shooting an efficient 6-of-10 from the field. Chelsea Gray also added 12 points and nine assists, but the Aces couldn’t match Indiana’s intensity.
MVP A'ja Wilson, who had 31 points after a poor shooting performance in Game 3. Wilson had her 17th career playoff 30-point game to move within one of the league record that is shared by Diana Taurasi and Breanna Stewart. She became the seventh player in league history to hit the 1,000-point mark in her playoff career with 1,024 and added nine rebounds, four steals, three blocks and three assists.
With their season on the line, the Aces will host the Fever in the series-deciding Game 5 on September 30 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
