Aces Destroyed the Dream 100-70 to get their first win of the season

Orlando- The Las Vegas Aces kept their foot on the pedial against the Atlanta Dream for their first win of the season, 100-70.

After coming off a devasting loss to the Chicago Sky in their opener, the Las Vegas Aces rebounded and got back to Aces basketball. A'ja Wilson went to work right away in the first half. She scored in multiple ways by putting pressure on the Dream's defense by creating opportunities for herself. Wilson finished the half with 14 points, 1 assist, and 7 rebounds in 17 minutes of play.

One of the key factors with the Aces blowing the lead wide open in the first half was the fact that they had 22-second chance opportunities while the Dream only had six second-chance opportunities. The Aces' bigs were getting after missed shots and turning them into points. Contributions by Dearica Hamby, Kayla McBride, and Angel McCoughtry helped the Aces build a 12-point lead at the half, 47-35.

In the second half, the Dream could not get back in the game, as they tried to figure out how to stop McBride from knocking down threes. They were lackadaisical on both sides of the floor and the Aces kept being the aggressor. The Aces kept their foot on the gas and never looked back. Wilson finished the game with 21 points, 1 assist, 11 rebounds. Wilson's partner in crime, Hamby stepped up big and finished the game with 20 points.

Check out what Coach Laimbeer had to say about the key factors that he liked with the win tonight.
