The New York Yankees snapped their four-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 6-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards, powered by early home runs and a strong outing from right-hander Will Warren.

Veteran first baseman Paul Goldschmidt wasted no time getting the Yankees on the board, launching the first pitch of the game over the wall for a leadoff home run. It was an immediate spark for a New York lineup that had struggled during its recent skid.

The Yankees broke the game open in the third inning with a five-run rally. RBI contributions from Aaron Judge and Ben Rice helped load the bases before Trent Grisham crushed a three-run homer to right field, extending the lead to 6-0.

Warren delivered one of his better starts of the season, allowing two runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out six. The Orioles threatened in the sixth after RBI hits from rookie Samuel Basallo and Tyler O’Neill cut into the deficit, but the Yankees bullpen shut the door the rest of the way. Fernando Cruz, Jake Bird, Tim Hill and David Bednar combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings to secure the win.

The victory improved the Yankees to 27-16 on the season and gave them five wins in six meetings against Baltimore this year. After managing only eight runs during their previous four games, New York’s offense looked much more like itself with timely hitting and patience at the plate
