Going into their first preseason game of the season against the Vikings, news of an injury bug started. C.J. Gardner-Johnson was injured in practice, and it looked like he tore his ACL. After a bunch of tests, it was announced that his ACL was intact, but they would have to do more test to see what he injured.

Gardner-Johnson, who had six interceptions in 2024 (tied for third in the NFL) and has 18 in his career, was supposed to elevate a defense that ranked sixth in passing yards allowed (201 YPG) and 13th in scoring defense (21.9 PPG) last season If he is not in the line-up, MJ Stewart may take his spot. But as for now, CJ has a long journey ahead of him.
