OXNARD, Calif. — The Dallas Cowboys will return to Oxnard this summer for their 20th training camp season in the city, continuing a relationship that is set to run through 2030.
The team’s 67th training camp will take place from July 29 through Aug. 18 at River Ridge Playing Fields, 2501 Ventura Road. Most practices will be free and open to the public on select dates.
The Cowboys first trained in Oxnard in 1985 and have returned regularly during the past two decades. The annual camp draws residents and visiting fans for open practices, youth programs and community events.
“Oxnard has become a cherished part of our team’s preseason tradition over the past two decades,” Cowboys owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones said. He credited the community’s support, facilities and welcoming atmosphere with making the city an important part of the team’s preparations.
The first open practice is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. July 29. Visit Oxnard will hold its fifth annual Oxnard Fan Night from 4 to 6 p.m. July 31 at Collection Park at The Collection at RiverPark. The free event will include entertainment, giveaways, trivia and appearances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and team mascot Rowdy.
An opening ceremony will be held Aug. 1, with live entertainment beginning at 9:15 a.m. The ceremony is scheduled for 11:15 a.m., followed by an open practice at 11:45 a.m.
Other activities include a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders dance clinic for registered children ages 6 to 16 on Aug. 2 at Rio Mesa High School.
A free NFL FLAG training camp for children ages 6 to 13 is planned for Aug. 5 at River Ridge Playing Fields. The program will feature football skill stations, character-building activities and nutrition education. Registration is required.
The Cowboys will recognize military personnel, first responders and healthcare workers during Heroes Appreciation Day on Aug. 6. Eligible attendees who wear a uniform or present valid identification can receive free general parking and limited reserved sideline access on a first-come, first-served basis.
Training camp will conclude Aug. 18 with a joint practice featuring the New Orleans Saints. The session is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
Fans attending camp can expect food and beverage vendors, a merchandise shop and autograph opportunities, along with select appearances by Rowdy and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Although most practices are free, paid upgrades are available. Sideline access costs $20, while admission to a shaded hospitality deck ranges from $100 to $150, depending on the day and event. Parking is not included.
Daily parking at River Ridge Playing Fields costs $20 for small vehicles and $40 for recreational vehicles, buses and trailers. Parking fees must be paid in cash.
“Twenty years of Cowboys Camp in Oxnard represents a legacy built through partnership and a shared commitment to creating an exceptional fan experience,” Visit Oxnard President and CEO Brittney Hendricks said. “This tradition has become part of the fabric of our community.”
