The Sniper breaks Olympic history in do or die victory for Team USA

Tokyo- Kevin Durant keeps Team USA alive, as he becomes All-Time Scorer in Olympic history.



After having a semi-shaky start in Olympic play ,it seemed like Team USA was starting to look like a complete team after getting two consecutive wins in their class. On Saturday, they had another test against a tough opponent in Czech Republic.



Team USA found themselves down early on after turning the ball over three times in the first quarter. After coach Pop called an early timeout, Team USA attempted to get themselves back in the game. They went on a 14-6 run to cut Czech Republic's lead to three with two minutes left in the quarter. At the end of the first, Team USA was looking at a seven point hole.



The pace picked up in the second, as both teams went on a scoring purge. Draymond Green hit a couple of shots to keep Team USA in striking distance. At the six minute mark,Kevin Durant hit a three pointer to break Olympic history. Durant becomes the all- time scoring leader in Olympic history. Team USA stiffened their defense late in the quarter and forced Czech Republic to take off balance shots. At the end of break, Team USA had a four point lead, 47-43.



Team USA came out in the third quarter very flat. Outside of Durant, other players struggled to find the bottom of the net early on. Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday picked it up defensively. Both players were pressuring Czech Reupublic at the halfcourt mark, gotten a couple of steals, which put Team USA on a 10-2 run midway in the third. Team USA extended their lead to 20 at the end of the third.


In the fourth, Team USA poured it and blew the game wide open. Team USA went on to knock out Czech Republic 119-84.
