Since 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs have held an honorary seat at every home game for upstanding members of the community. This tradition was started as part of their 60th season of professional football celebrations.

The Chiefs have encouraged Season Ticket Members and notable members of Chiefs Kingdom to nominate other fans to receive the honor. If chosen, the individual is celebrated by the club publicly at a home game. The team recognizes fans’ commitment to the spirit of Lamar Hunt as well as their core values: Win with Character, Honor Tradition, inspire our Fans, and Unite the Community.

The chosen fans will receive a full pre-game VIP experience before taking one of two gold seats (one for the honoree and one for a guest). The seat is positioned in the lower bowl, section 121 and is directly below Lamar Hunt’ name in the Ring of Honor.

Chief’s Vice President of Fan Experience, Jayne Martin said “We are continually in awe of what Chiefs fans do to support our community, and it’s that giving spirit that reflects just one of the many qualities that made our founder, Lamar Hunt, so special.”

Since its introduction in 2019, almost 70 fans have received this honor with the promise of many more to be added to that list.
