TCU romps Nicholls St. 41- 6

TCU quarterback Chandler Morris was not to be denied two weeks in a row. Morris threw for 263 yards two touchdowns and rushed for one. TCU’s loss against Colorado in Week 1 sparked a focus in practice all week that transpired onto the field in Week 2 against Nicholls State. When asked about his performance today, Morris acknowledged, “Definitely protecting the football. I had two costly turnovers last week.

I mean, I couldn’t even turn on Animal Planet during the week and watch some shows without seeing it on TV. So that was definitely a big emphasis for me, and then using my feet more.” TCU’s defense pitched a shutout for touchdowns by only allowing field goals in the second and third quarter. Defensively, the Horned Frogs only allowed 17 of 36 passes and a total of 86 yards rushing. TCU’s stout defense was just enough to blank Nicholls State to score 41 points in their second game of the year. TCU now opens their Big 12 conference on the road against the newly joined Houston Cougars in Week 3. The Horned Frogs look to bounce back from a week 1 loss against Colorado traveling to Houston before hosting 3 of their next 4 games in Ft. Worth. TCU improves to a 1-1 record
