Serena Williams chasing down another major at the Australian Open

New York- Serena Williams started her Australian Open campaign defeating Laura Siegemund 6-1, 6-1.

After dropping out of the Yarra Valley Classic last week, because of a shoulder injury, Williams came out the gate firing on all cylinders during the first round of the Australian Open. Williams dominated the first set by making Siegemund frustrated with her backhand serves, as well as made her be decisive with throwing her forehand shots.

Williams won majority of her points on her first serve and after the first set was finished, she did not let her foot off the gas. Williams went on to win the second set in an aggressive victory.

Williams did not have much of a wrinkle in her game against Siegemund and said that she was very excited to be advancing to the next round.
