Naomi Osaka upsets Aryna Sabalenka

Coming into Sunday's match against Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka had a big task in front of her, dealing with a player, who can mix it up a bit on the court. Earlier in the first set, Osaka had a couple of mistakes with finding her rhythm however, after she calmed down, Osaka's confidence started beaming. Osaka kept Sabalenka from controlling the pace of the first serve; instead of being aggressive on the second serve, Osaka went for it and it paid off. Osaka wo the first set 6-2.

In the second set, Osaka had Sabalenka trying to figure out what she had to do to get back on track. At one point in the match, Sabalenka was seen hitting herself on the head with her racquet out of frustration. From the statics point of view, Osaka was hitting 70% of the balls that were very deep. Late in the set, Osaka faced a little bit of adversity as she had to climb her way from a 5-4 game to set up an extra game to potentially take the set. In the tiebreaker, Oska dominated, (7-7) and won the second set, 7(7) 6-(2)

After the win, Oska talked about her performance! She said that she was having fun and thanked the fans for being behind her.
