Sami Whitcomb provides spark for the Storm as they continue their winning streak
Bradenton, FL- Sami Whitcomb contributes to a Seattle Storm victory over the Chicago Sky, 89-71.
The Storm was sensational on both sides of the court against the Sky. In the first half, Breanna Stewart was all over the place. She was getting after rebounds, setting her teammates up for quality shots, getting to her spots on the floor and making her shots, and frustrating the Sky's defense. Stewart made it tough for Cheyenne Parker to get going, as she protected the paint. Stewart finished the half with 14 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds. Sami Whitcomb had a monster half as well, scoring 10 points to assist with the 18-point lead that the Storm built at the half, 46-28.
In the second half, the Sky went on a 19-8 run to cut the lead to eight late in the third quarter, but the superb shooting of the Storm, who were shooting around 60% extended their lead to 15 points at the end of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Storm finished off the Sky, hitting shot after shot. Contributions by EziyodaMagbegor, Jewell Loyd, and Alyshia Clark helped the Storm get another victory and stay in front of the pack with only one loss. The Storm are now 7-1 and looks to get Sue Bird back soon.
Stewart finished the game with 25 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Whitcomb finished the game with 17 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds.
