Rams will play Lions in post season after defeating 49ers 21-20

In the absence of Matthew Stafford, Carson Wentz filled in for the quarterback. Now Stafford will play against his former team in a highly anticipated playoff matchup.

It was a game with backups, so Carson Wentz threw two touchdown passes to Puka Nacua. Nacua set a rookie record for catches and yards receiving. Wentz also ran for a score to lead the Los Angeles Rams to a 21-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Rams (10-7) have clinched the sixth seed in the NFC, which means they will face Detroit in the wild card round next weekend. As part of this game, Stafford will be playing against the Lions team that drafted him with the first overall draft pick in 2009 in what the first playoff game will be hosted by Detroit in 30 years.

When asked about the upcoming matchup Stafford said, "Exciting for this team just to get back to where we are right now, to be honest with you". “The opportunity happens to be in Detroit, which is fun for me on a personal level.”

The game had hardly any meaning with the 49ers (12-5) clinching the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye and the Rams clinching a playoff spot last week.

I said it a few weeks ago that the Rams were going to be a scary team if they continued to stay hot and get into the playoffs. I am standing on business. Detroit is on upset alert!!!
