President Joe Biden Will Visit Fort Campbell Kentucky This Week

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden will travel to Fort Campbell, Mayfield, Dawson Springs

Kentucky to survey the storm damage that was caused by the extreme weather and tornadoes last week. On Monday, President Biden stated to the media in his presser “We’re going to

get this done, we're going to be there as long as it takes to help,” he said. “Whatever they need

when they need it,” Biden message to governors.

President Biden is worried most about the peace of mind of the victims so they can actually put their head down on a pillow. Biden says “mental health” of victims and “the uncertainty” worries him most. The federal government will stay as long as it is needed. Damage assessments are continuing in other areas, and more counties and additional forms of assistance may be designated after the assessments are fully completed.

Residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated counties can begin

applying for assistance by registering online at http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The

toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week

until further notice.
