Naomi Osaka had 10 aces in a victory over Caroline Garcia 6-2, 6-3

New York- Naomi Osaka was very sharp with a win over Caroline Garcia to move onto the next round.

Osaka started the match against Garcia a little slow, but picked up the pace in the first set. Osaka picked apart Garcia with making her run to the other sides of the court instead of keeping the ball in the middle of the court. Osaka was making her presence felt on the court with her top spin shots that were hard for Garcia to get a handle on. Osaka won the first set 6-2.

Osaka had a couple of unforced errors that gain Garcia a little bit of hope in the second set, but Osaka dug herself out of trouble when it seemed like Garcia could inch her way back in the game. Osaka eventually won the second set 6-3. Osaka will advance to the next round and face Ons Jabeur.
