Naomi Osaka all smiles in a win over Hailey Baptiste

The smiles and cheers were ringing in as Naomi Osaka defeated Hailey Baptiste 6-3 and 6-1. For the first time in a long time, Osaka looks very free, which has elevated her game to the level that a lot of people expected her to be on a consistent basis. In the victory over Baptiste, Osaka's serve was on point and very crisp to the point where she was winning her first serve around 69%. Osaka did not allow her opponent to think that she could beat her, because she was aggressive from start to finish.
“I would say I made progress in my attitude,” Osaka said when asked how she improved from her opening match, “which is the one thing that I really wanted to work on.
“I think Tuesday I was getting really down on myself in certain moments. … And then today I just really tried to be positive even if she hit a crazy winner or even if she did something incredible, and I tried to be very stable …”
