Loyola Chicago continues to shine, as they defeated No.1 seed Illinois 71-58

March Madness started with a bang with some big teams that were favored to win it all were defeated. Loyola Chicago dropped Georgia Tech on Friday and showed that they could hang with the big boys on Sunday, defeating Illinois 71-58.


Cameron Krutwig had one heck of a game. He was hitting shots from outside, as well as inside and made the game for Loyola simple. Krutwig finished the game with a team 19 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. His wingman Lucas Williamson dropped 14 points in the victory.


With the win, Loyola Chicago is 15-5 in NCAA tournament history and ties Duke with a winning percentage of .750. They will play Oregon State in the Sweet Sixteen on Saturday.
