Lakers' Superstars shine on Christmas day with a victory over the Mavericks 138-115

Los Angeles- The Lakers had five players in double figures in a victory over the Dallas Mavericks.



After everyone was stuffed from Christmas joy and food, the Lakers and the Mavericks faced each other on prime time television.


Anthony Davis got right to business in the first half. He went 7 of 9 from the field and finished with 18 points in two quarters. Ball movement for the Lakers were superb, as they shot over 60% from the field and hit nine three pointers in the half. The Lakers did a pretty good job with containing Luka Doncic. Luka went 3 out of 10 and finished the half with 11 points. At the end of the break, the Lakers built up a 12 point lead, 69-57.


In the second half, the second unit did a good job with helping out the team. They combined for 15 points in the third quarter and did a good job on the defensive end. LA gave Tim Hardaway a tough time. He could not get shots to drop and turned the ball over three times in the quarter.


Dallas went on a 10-2 run to cut the Lakers' lead to ten at the start of the fourth. This was the closest the Mavericks have been since the second quarter. That was short lived, because a few minutes later, the Lakers went on a 14-6 run to push the lead back up 16. The Lakers' outside shooting kept the Mavericks at bay, as the Lakers went on to get their first victory of the season.
